Intro: Wuthering HeightsMr. Earnshaw brought back a Gypsy child named Heathcliff (played by Tom Hardy) when he returned home to Wuthering Heights. His son Hindley (played by Burn Gorman) was jealous of his father's favoritism towards Heathcliff and bullied him mercilessly. Mr. Earnshaw had no choice but to send the constantly targeted Hindley off to a boarding school. His daughter Catherine (played by Charlotte Riley) grew up as a childhood friend of Heathcliff, and they developed deep feelings for each other. After Mr. Earnshaw's death, Hindley returned to Wuthering Heights to inherit his father's estate and demoted Heathcliff to the status of a servant, seeking revenge. Out of desperation, Catherine married Edgar (played by Andrew Lincoln) from Thrushcross Grange. Heartbroken, Heathcliff chose to leave, and three years later he returned with a fortune to begin his vengeful campaign. He plotted to seize Wuthering Heights, indirectly causing Hindley to die drunk, tricked Edgar’s sister Isabella into eloping with him, bringing shame to Edgar, and all of this caused Catherine, who still loved him, unbearable pain, leading to her death in childbirth. The mentally disturbed Heathcliff extended his revenge to the next generation until he left this world holding Catherine's corpse. This film is adapted from the eponymous classic "Wuthering Heights" by British author Emily Brontë.
