Intro： The Great Han Romance: Song in the CloudsIn the final years of Emperor Wu of Han, the witchcraft case claimed the lives of over ten thousand people and led to the unjust deaths of Liu Che's beloved Crown Prince Liu Ju and Empress Wei Zifu. After the turmoil, the emperor passed the throne to the eight-year-old Liu Fuling, while cruelly giving death to the child's mother, Lady Gouyi. During an expedition outside the Great Wall, Fuling and his party encountered a sandstorm. After the disaster, he became close to the beautiful foreign girl Yun Ge, feeling a long-lost warmth in his scarred young heart. Years later, Yun Ge (played by Yang Ying) travels to Chang'an in search of Fuling (played by Lu Yi) but encounters Liu Bingyi (played by Chen Xiao), the grandson of the ill-fated Crown Prince Liu Ju. Yun Ge mistakenly believes him to be Fuling, while at the same time, Bingyi is accompanied by his childhood friend Xu Pingjun (played by Su Qing).
