The story takes place in the crime-ridden city of Rio de Janeiro, where Sandro (played by Michel Gomes) is originally a simple, happy child. Faced with immense pain and anger, Sandro becomes lost and starts to indulge in self-destructive behavior, spending his days with local gangs. Lured by his companions, Sandro not only begins using drugs but also engages in dangerous drug trafficking, with his operations growing larger. During a police crackdown on drugs, Sandro narrowly escapes death, and afterward, he meets the only person who can bring him warmth—Melissa (played by Chris Vianna). It turns out that Melissa is searching for her missing son, who is of similar age and build to Sandro. Through a series of misunderstandings, Melissa ends up becoming a mother to Sandro, but this cannot prevent him from heading towards self-destruction.
