Suddenly, many countries around the world are experiencing a phenomenon of massive gold outflow, while black market trading of gold is thriving. The British intelligence agency suspects that the world's wealthy Goldfinger is involved in the black market gold trade; he owns a large bank in Geneva where many countries have significant gold reserves. James Bond (played by Sean Connery) begins an investigation into Goldfinger. Bond tracks Goldfinger to Geneva and discovers his secret of smuggling gold out; he re-melts it into gold bars by making car bodies out of gold. Bond is caught by Goldfinger's henchmen. In an unexpected turn of events, Bond learns about Goldfinger's shocking plan: he intends to spread poisonous gas using an airplane to kill the military stationed at the bank, then blow up the bank, using a small nuclear bomb to irradiate the gold reserves of various countries, making them unfit for circulation, thus allowing black market gold trading to reap gigantic profits of more than ten times! Although Bond learns the full extent of Goldfinger's plan, he is imprisoned and unable to notify the outside world. Will Goldfinger's conspiracy ultimately succeed?
