Miles (played by Woody Allen) was originally the owner of a grocery store. During a visit to the hospital, he accidentally got frozen, and that freeze lasted for two hundred years. Two hundred years later, Miles awakens from his slumber to find that the world has undergone tremendous changes; a brutal totalitarian ruler meticulously controls the lives and deaths of his people. Clearly, the 'suddenly emerging' Miles has become a highly unstable factor in this society. Thus, Miles becomes the number one wanted criminal, pursued by the police and embarking on a journey of escape. During this process, he disguises himself as a robot and infiltrates the home of a woman named Luna (played by Diane Keaton), witnessing her absurd lifestyle. Later, after his identity is revealed, Miles kidnaps Luna, but the two become deeply attracted to each other during their time together. Ultimately, Miles is captured, while Luna, by coincidence, meets the leader of the rebels and joins the uprising.
