In the extremely cold Alaskan wilderness, where ice and snow dominate, a group of criminals and other illegal individuals from various places join an oil company to work in this harsh land. John Ottway (played by Liam Neeson) is the company's guardian hunter, responsible for hunting wolves to protect the workers from harm. He misses his wife day and night and has long lost hope. One day, the plane he and the workers were on crashes, and when he wakes up again, he finds himself in the blizzard-swept ice fields. Six others who miraculously survived with him are Hendrick (Dallas Roberts), Diaz (Frank Grillo), Bark (Nonso Anozie), Talget (Dermot Mulroney), Flannery (Joe Anderson), and Hernandez (Ben Bray). Although they have temporarily escaped, their lives are still at risk as rescue has not arrived. The seven survivors, each with different personalities, are about to embark on what seems to be an endless journey for survival.
