John Henry (played by the heroic O'Neill) is an expert in metallurgy for the military, responsible for a research and development program for a new type of defensive weapon: using 'sound waves' to eliminate enemies without needing to use knives or guns. He collaborates with a mysterious government research group, led by a shrewd female electronic expert, Spark. On the day of the weapon testing, a moment of negligence by team member Sanner causes Spark to become paralyzed from the waist down. Exhausted, John Henry decides to return to Los Angeles, leaving the world of weapons behind forever. However, his peaceful life in LA does not last long; he discovers his weapon in the hands of a gang of robbers. It turns out that Sanner has left the government to sell the weapon at a high price to the world's most ruthless terrorists.
