The story picks up right where last season left off, with Albuquerque lawyer Jimmy McGill betrayed by his brother Chuck. They are successful, but Marco suffers a heart attack during their last dirty work. After Marco's death, Jimmy returns to New Mexico, seemingly finding a new purpose in life. He turns down a job offer from a large law firm in Santa Fe and takes a significant step toward becoming the criminal defense lawyer 'Saul Goodman', leaving behind his days of being 'innocent and upright.' His transformation has begun. However, the producers emphasize repeatedly that you won’t see a complete Saul Goodman this season; 'Jimmy McGill is the soul of the show,' 'we are telling his story,' 'we won’t say goodbye to him so quickly.' This season, Jimmy has many things to resolve, including mending his relationship with brother Chuck (Michael McKean).
