Dabao (played by Leung Ka Yan) and his younger brother Erbao (played by Yuen Biao) are orphaned and rely on each other, sharing a deep bond. They spend their days idling and gambling in hopes of making easy money but often end up losing their meager savings. After being bullied repeatedly, Dabao and Erbao decide they want to learn martial arts. They take a skilled master (played by Lau Ka Wing) they meet by chance in a restaurant as their teacher and embark on a difficult training journey filled with hardship and sweat. By chance, the brothers discover that their master is actually a notorious bandit in hiding. Upon learning this, the master wants to eliminate them, and while Erbao narrowly escapes, Dabao is brutally killed by the master. Filled with grief and rage, Erbao seeks revenge for his brother and coincidentally meets a beggar (played by Sammo Hung) whom he has encountered once before. However, the beggar's true identity turns out to be a famous bounty hunter. Under his guidance, Erbao's martial skills improve tremendously, and he ultimately avenges his brother by killing his enemy.
