Hungarian Jewish doctor Mikhalos (portrayed by Allan Corduner), due to his outstanding achievements in the field of twin genetics, was granted special privileges by the guard Musfeld (played by Harvey Keitel). He was unwilling to watch as Hungarian inmate Hoffman (played by David Arquette) suffocated a failed suicide victim with a pillow, leading to a conflict between them.
