Casey (played by Anya Taylor-Joy) is a strange girl who seems out of place among her peers. One day, while preparing to catch a ride home with her classmates Claire (played by Haley Lu Richardson) and Marcia (played by Jessica Sula), they are attacked and kidnapped by a mysterious man. The three are imprisoned in a dark and cold basement, facing an unknown perilous fate.The man who kidnaps the three girls is named Kevin (played by James McAvoy). In reality, he is a person with dissociative identity disorder, hosting as many as 23 different personalities within him. Dr. Fletcher (played by Betty Buckley) is Kevin's psychiatrist, and she discovers that there is growing conflict among Kevin's personalities, and worse, a 24th personality is slowly forming. This personality is strong, evil, and cruel. If it gains control over Kevin's body, not only will the three girls suffer, but Kevin's life will also be in jeopardy.
