The case was assigned to the political police officer Song Donglu (played by Liu Qingyun) who is responsible for managing records in the police department. Song Donglu, being a desk officer, is neither skilled in martial arts nor knows how to shoot, but he has a meticulous mind and unique methods for solving difficult cases.
