Years unknown, the demon world descended into chaos. The new demon king ruthlessly hunted down the previous powers, vowing to eliminate the child of the former demon queen in her womb. The demon queen and her companions escaped persecution to Yongning Village, located deep in the mountains, where they coincidentally encountered the demon-catching master Huo Xiaolan (played by Bai Baihe) and Luo Gang (played by Jiang Wu). After a series of chaotic events, the demon queen realized that her fate was near its end and thus placed the demon egg into the body of the village head Song Tianyin (played by Jing Boran) for safekeeping. That night, the master of the demon-catching hall to which Xiaolan belongs, Ge Qianhu (played by Zhong Hanliang), led his men to massacre Yongning Village, forcing Tianyin to escape with Xiaolan. When the time is ripe, the turnip demon Huba is born into the human world. In the ensuing journey, Xiaolan and Tianyin's understanding of each other deepens, and Huba becomes an irreplaceable presence among them. The war continues, and the boundaries between humans and demons become increasingly blurred...
