Gangsheng (played by Brigitte Lin) smuggles from the mainland to Hong Kong, enduring hardships and being humiliated by the snakehead. Initially, she plans to rely on her aunt, but her aunt rejects her and mocks her coldly, while her uncle lusts after her beauty. Gangsheng has no choice but to leave her aunt's house and end up on the streets again. Inspector He Dingbang (played by Chow Yun-fat) and Xiang Ren (played by Lau Fong) are pursuing Bai Fenxiong, who drives out of the street and knocks down Gangsheng. After waking up in the hospital, Gangsheng fears her identity may be exposed and that she will be sent back to the mainland.
