A Netflix original documentary about the famous war photojournalist Chris Hondros, directed by Hondros's friend Greg Campbell, tells the story of Hondros's experiences as a war photographer and features numerous precious photographs he took. The protagonist Chris Hondros was an American war photojournalist and a Getty photographer. Since covering the Kosovo War in 1999, he reported on multiple conflicts and wars including the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, winning several international photography awards. In 2006, Hondros received the highest honor in war photography, the Robert Capa Gold Medal; in 2007, he was named a "Photography Hero" by American Photo magazine; in 2008, he received a nomination for the National Magazine Award. On April 21, 2011, it was reported that Hondros was critically wounded by shellfire in Libya and passed away at the age of 41. The day before his death, he was still taking photographs of the street battles between Libyan rebel forces and the government troops in Misurata.
