This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by British author Jonathan Swift, and tells the story of Gulliver's adventures in Lilliput. Gulliver (played by Jack Black) is a small-time employee in a company’s postal room, who is not young anymore but has achieved nothing in his career or love life. His only hobby is spending time with Star Wars action figures. An unexpected official assignment takes him to the Bermuda Islands, but he encounters a fierce storm at sea. Once the storm calms down, he finds himself on a mysterious island, Lilliput, which does not appear on any map, inhabited by hundreds of tiny people. He is captured and tied up on the beach by them. Over time, the people of Lilliput and Gulliver become good friends. Meanwhile, the princess (played by Emily Blunt) is to be married off to another country, but she has a childhood sweetheart. Gulliver intervenes to resolve the dispute between the two nations and helps the princess and her lover achieve their lifelong commitment. Consequently, Gulliver becomes a hero in Lilliput, and this experience teaches him that the inner strength of a person is unrelated to their outward appearance.
