Afterward, Jeanne goes to the train station to meet her boyfriend Tom, who is shooting a film documenting the development of their romance. Subsequently, Jeanne frequently visits the apartment to meet the middle-aged man. The man, Paul (played by Marlon Brando), is from Paris; his cheating wife recently committed suicide, leaving him in deep pain.
