This version of CW is adapted from the 1990 French film "La Femme Nikita", the 1993 American remake "Point of No Return", and the 1997 television series "Nikita" co-produced by the United States and Canada. Nikita (played by Maggie Q) is sent to a women's prison after failing to resist arrest during a robbery, which results in the death of a police officer. She is later rescued by a secret government organization called "Division". The organization forges Nikita's death certificate and gives her a chance to start a new life—training her to become a spy and a top assassin, pledging her loyalty to her country.
