Qi (played by Nick Chan) is a professional pickpocket. One day, before leaving home, a sparrow flies into his house and refuses to leave, lingering in the dim room. During lunch with his partners, Qi asks about the symbolic meaning of the sparrow's arrival, and a partner jokes that it is an omen of bad luck. Qi and his three brothers steal to make a living on the streets of Hong Kong, riding a single bicycle in a wobbly manner, which adds a touch of brotherly camaraderie.
