One night, a student organization led by Naokawa Chizuo (played by Shigemoto Sasahara) and Maruyama Kunio (played by Mitsu Yamakawa) was raided by police at their hideout. In the chaos, they seized a police officer's firearm and fled. As they passed through a dark alley, they threw the handgun into a wash basin in a public restroom, where it was picked up by a passing young company employee, Suzuki (played by Akihama Michi). Tired of the dull and rigid corporate environment and a mediocre, hopeless life, Suzuki chased after them, hoping to join their organization. The next day, the refusal to surrender action led by Naokawa and the others was twisted by the media into a violent incident of attacking police officers. To avoid scrutiny, they followed Suzuki to hide in an apartment in the suburbs, spending their days drinking and engaging in casual relationships, with all external affairs handled by Suzuki. The failure of the student movement and the collapse of their ideals led this group of young people towards despair and indulgence. However, Suzuki was unwilling to face such failure...
