In a school where democracy and freedom were unheard of, Wang Xinren (played by Feng Xiaoyue) could not suppress his rebellious spirit, writing acrostic poems and planning a collective protest ball. Alongside him in their carefree mischief were Chen Zhongliang (played by Zhang Xiaoqian) and Lin Meibao (played by Gui Lunmei). The three, who spent time together constantly, found love quietly blossoming among them. The taciturn Zhongliang struggled to interpret Meibao's hints; Xinren vigorously pursued Meibao; while Zhongliang, who had been the first to have a girlfriend, found himself confused. In 1990, Taipei witnessed a turbulent student movement, in which Xinren was an active participant, while Zhongliang became a mere spectator. Meibao, who became Xinren's girlfriend, would occasionally travel from her hometown to Taipei, keeping the trio inseparably close. A grand student assembly caught the police's attention, causing cracks in their bond. Zhongliang chose to step outside the city walls; Xinren could not resist external temptations; and Meibao, who observed it all, could no longer choose to look away. As they entered society, the paths of the once-close friends and lovers intertwined again after many years. Having gained new identities, could they, who had suffered for love, eventually find the courage to return to their dreamy hometown of 1985?
