Sandy (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones) is a full-time housewife who carefully takes care of her son and daughter every day, being a supportive wife to her husband. However, while searching for birthday party videos for her son, she accidentally discovers evidence of her husband's infidelity, and this cruel reality shatters her. She resolutely divorces and moves with her children to New York, renting a place and looking for a job. While searching for a rental, she meets a young landlord, Frank (played by Jake Cherry). He is a barista in a café, also recently divorced, and has successfully interviewed for a job at a women's center. They encounter each other again during a self-defense class, where he is a fully-equipped sparring partner, and she is the trainee. Under the instructor's encouragement, she gets into the zone, releasing her pent-up anger towards her husband onto him. In that moment, he suddenly understands the tenant's struggles, and their feelings for each other begin to heat up. At Sandy's strong invitation, Frank becomes a babysitter for her children, and they gradually spark a connection through their interactions...
