Zhang Cuishan, being chivalrous, refuses to betray his brother, and in order to prevent trouble for his master, he and Yin Susu commit suicide in front of the six major sects. Thus, Zhang Wuji becomes an orphan. Since Wuji was poisoned with a rare toxin since childhood, Zhang Sanfeng periodically has to infuse him with vital energy to keep him alive. Because of this, Wuji has been unable to practice martial arts and has suffered bullying from the younger generation at the Wudang Sect. By chance, Wuji falls off the cliff of Wudang Mountain, marking the beginning of his extraordinary journey in the martial world.
