The voice cast from the movie, including Billy Crystal as "Mike Wazowski" and John Goodman as "Sully," will return to reprise their roles. The series is set six months after the events of "Monsters, Inc.," where Monsters, Inc. can now generate electricity for the city by harvesting children's laughter instead of screams, thanks to the discovery by Mike and Sully that laughter produces ten times more energy than screams. The main character of the series will be a newcomer: Tylor Tuskmon (voiced by Ben Feldman from "Superstore"), a young technician at Monsters, Inc. who is ambitious and wants to join his idols Mike and Sully in the "Laugh Floor" to become a "Jokester" who creates laughter. Kelly Marie Tran, known for her role as "Rose" in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi," will voice his lifelong friend and confidante Val Little.
