College student Junichi Satoshima (played by Takashi Godai) is determined to break into high society, so he takes a holiday job at a high-end restaurant in Karuizawa. A few days later, he is assigned as a waiter to the villa of Genichiro Nakagawa (played by Katsuya Tsuchiya), the president of Nakagawa Corporation. There, Junichi falls in love at first sight with the president's wife, Yoshiko (played by Miwa Takada). In a daze, he accidentally drops a dinner plate and is harshly reprimanded by Nakagawa, but Yoshiko protects him. The next day, after being fired, Junichi unexpectedly encounters Yoshiko, who is with her son Yuu (played by Masato Ito). Yoshiko has left her sugar daddy Nakagawa and is leading a lonely life. She sympathizes with Junichi's plight and decides to invite him to be a tutor for her son. Junichi seizes the opportunity and successfully seduces Yoshiko. However, after moving into the villa of Yoshiko's deceased sister, her niece Aya (played by Yumi Yoshikawa) and her boyfriend, the young heir Masahiro Okazaki (played by Takashi Godai), fixate on Junichi. Masahiro, who has a criminal record, plans to use Junichi to create a false narrative of his own death in order to escape police and enemies. One night, when Junichi and Aya arrive at Okazaki's villa as agreed, they discover that Okazaki has been dead for a long time. Fearing being implicated, Junichi hurriedly buries the body and threatens Aya, claiming that they are now co-conspirators, forcing her to marry him. When Junichi and Aya go to a restaurant, they run into Yoshiko and her son. After learning that the couple is engaged, a heartbroken Yoshiko quietly leaves the restaurant. Seeing Yoshiko in despair, Junichi cannot help but reveal the truth to her. To confirm the truth, Yoshiko reports to the police, leading to the discovery of Masahiro's body. Junichi and Aya are forced to go on the run and collide head-on with a speeding train, killing them instantly. Upon hearing of Junichi's death, Yoshiko visits the morgue. There, Inspector Hisajima (played by Shinjiro Egahara) informs her that it was not Junichi who killed Masahiro. Yoshiko kisses Junichi, whose throat has been cut, overwhelmed with mixed emotions. The summer in Karuizawa seems to end as if nothing has happened...
