Intro： The Disappearance of the Rich LadyJust as Kelly (Margaret Lockwood) is about to head to London to get married, she is trapped in a small hotel at the foot of the mountain due to an avalanche. There, she encounters a photographer named Cond (Michael Redgrave) and they get into an argument over a trivial matter. The next day, as everyone sets off on their journeys, they end up on the same train. On the train, Kelly teams up with an elderly woman named Floy (Dame May Whitty), taking care of each other. However, after Kelly is knocked unconscious from a blow to her head, she falls into a deep sleep. When she wakes up, the elderly woman is nowhere to be found. Searching for Floy but unable to locate her, Kelly is left with no choice but to report it to the police. To her surprise, everyone in her train compartment claims they have not seen any elderly woman, leaving a confused Kelly to run into Cond again. Cond believes Kelly and senses that something is amiss, and the two gradually reconcile as they begin their investigation together.
