Intro： Revolutionary PastThe story takes place during the Mexican Revolution in the early 20th century. In a long-distance stagecoach, the noble gentlemen and ladies are talking boastfully about a taciturn farmer, but suddenly the farmer reveals himself to be Juan, the leader of a family gang, played by Rod Steiger. After a robbery, Juan runs into John, an explosives expert from the Irish revolutionaries, played by James Coburn. John's demolition skills make robbing the Mesavide Bank as easy as pie, so Juan desperately follows him, only to unintentionally get caught up in the Mesavide uprising in cooperation with the Villa revolutionary army. Juan gets to partner with John in robbing the bank, but all he gains is the liberation of 150 political prisoners. The government forces, led by Colonel Gante, are suppressing the revolution, and Juan and the revolutionary group pay a heavy price. In the face of adversity, John and Juan develop a genuine revolutionary bond. On their way to the United States, they turn back to ambush Colonel Gante. When John is shot, this old warrior remembers the warm scenes from his past in Ireland... This film won the Best Director award at the 1972 Italian David Awards.
