Intro: Wolf Clan Covenant in MandarinThe film is based on true events that occurred during the reign of King Louis XV of France. In the mid-1760s, a particularly vicious giant wolf threatened the Gévaudan region, with most victims being women and children. For a time, all of France was shocked by the horrifying bloody killings, and no one knew the true appearance of the beast, with some claiming it was the embodiment of a devil. To stabilize the public's confidence, Louis XV appointed Royal Knight François (played by Samuel Le Bihan) to hunt down the monster. During his stay in Gévaudan, François fell in love with the local count's daughter, Marianne (played by Émilie Dequenne), had an affair with the stunning courtesan Sylvia (played by Monica Bellucci), and met Marianne's brother Jean-François (played by Vincent Cassel). As the investigation deepened, François discovered a steel tooth on one of the victim's bodies, and a witness claimed that someone was controlling the giant wolf. The investigation revealed a more terrifying conspiracy, leading to a series of bloody killings... The film is based on true events that occurred during the reign of King Louis XV of France.
