Edie is the co-creator of the popular comic 'The Ink Black Heart', and she is being harassed by a mysterious online figure known as Anomie. Edie is desperate to uncover Anomie's true identity. Robin believes the agency can't help with this and doesn’t give it much thought. Until a few days later, she reads a shocking news story: Edie has been electrocuted and killed at Highgate Cemetery, the setting of 'The Ink Black Heart'. Robin and her business partner Cormoran Strike thus begin to seek the true identity of Anomie.
