The story narrates how Tong Hu (played by Gao Fei), who betrayed his master, led his disciples to intrude at night to seize the hidden treasure sword of his sect. Although Tong Hu successfully defeated many sect members and learned the location of the sword, he was troubled because accessing the treasure required the Seven Stars Armor. The holder of the Seven Stars Armor, Grandma Ma (played by Zhao Gangsheng), is a martial arts expert, but her grandson Xiao Gouzi (played by Sun Guoming) has not delved deeply into martial arts due to his grandmother's indulgent care since childhood. However, after experiencing the strong attitude of his childhood friend Hu Niu (played by Zou Meiyi) and suffering a devastating defeat at the hands of Tong Hu's disciple seeking the Seven Stars Armor, Xiao Gouzi begins to realize he should commit himself to martial arts. Subsequently, under Grandma Ma's arrangement, Xiao Gouzi takes the Seven Stars Armor to learn martial arts from his master Gou Bulili (played by Liang Jiarun). One day, when Xiao Gouzi and Gou Bulili return to the village to visit Grandma Ma, they discover that she has already been killed by Tong Hu's group, who came to seize the armor. Tong Hu and his group then attack Xiao Gouzi and Gou Bulili in an attempt to obtain the Seven Stars Armor. Fortunately, with Gou Bulili's assistance, the two manage to escape unscathed. Back at Gou Bulili's place, Xiao Gouzi vows to train diligently in martial arts and avenge Grandma Ma.
