A man wearing sunglasses who claims to be Prot (played by Kevin Spacey) suddenly appears at New York's Central Park station. He claims to be from the planet K-PAX, which is located a thousand light-years away near the Lyra constellation, and he came to Earth at superluminal speed for an investigation.
