Manmo (played by Luis Fernando Peña) lives with his parents in the small Mexican town of Santa Anna, trying to make a living through farming. The Del Rio Water Company built a dam on a nearby river, causing severe water shortages in the entire region. The high water prices drive desperate farmers to steal water from the dam. The company’s U.S. headquarters hires pilot Rudy (played by Jacob Vargas) to remotely control drones to target "terrorists" protecting the dam, which ends up destroying Manmo's home and killing his father on the spot. Heartbroken, Manmo leaves his hometown for work in the border city of Tijuana, where he meets writer Ruz (played by Lennor Varela). Ruz helps Manmo get a 'node,' enabling him to remotely control robots across America from inside a factory to perform heavy labor. As Ruz continues to sell Manmo's story, their relationship deepens, and they eventually fall in love. However, the person buying Manmo's story on the other side of the network turns out to be Rudy...
