Aoki Minoru (played by Hidetoshi Nishijima) is an architect who once lived a very happy life with his wife Yukari (played by Rie Miyazawa). The collapse of the bubble economy brought a huge blow to this family, and eventually, Yukari left Aoki, while Aoki gave up his former dreams and plunged into a design job that felt like an assembly line, in order to forget the pain of his loss. One day, a man named Yoshino Tota (played by Junichi Ito) approached Aoki and asked him to design a house with a very simple condition: Yoshino hoped that Aoki could design a home where he himself would want to live. This special commission rekindled Aoki's passion for architecture, and he poured all his effort into it, ultimately completing the task exceptionally well. However, Aoki later discovered that Yoshino had not moved into the house he had painstakingly designed.
