The protagonist Rona (Lan/Na) is an ordinary child of the Moon (resident of the Moon). By chance, she discovered the Turn A Gundam buried in a mine and, relying on her experience and judgment as a Moon child, she piloted it to fight against the invading Moon return army. The animation does not explicitly label Rona as a New Type.
