"Kiznaiver" is an original television anime produced by the animation company Trigger, which announced its production decision in October 2015. The story is set in a fictional Japanese city called Sugomori City, a place with a drastically reduced population due to its development as a frontier region. The protagonist, Katsuhira Agata, a high school student living there, possesses a body that cannot feel pain for some unknown reason. One day, just before summer break, Katsuhira learns from a mysterious girl named Niko Yukinokouji that he has been chosen as a member of the pain-sharing system called 'Kiznaiver.' Niko has said, 'This is an experiment aimed at leading a world full of conflict towards peace.' Thus begins the story of the boys and girls who carry each other's pain during that summer!"
