Cleveland Brown is a mild-mannered good man who is liked by all his neighbors. Many years ago, during high school, Cleveland Brown was madly in love with a girl named Donna. To his frustration, Donna had little feeling for him and married another man. Cleveland once told Donna that he would love her forever, and if that man ever wronged her, he would wait for her to change her mind. Unexpectedly, Donna's husband actually ran off with another woman, leaving Donna with her middle school daughter and a newborn child. Thus, Donna returned to Cleveland, promising him another chance at love. Keeping his promise, Cleveland happily accepted the invitation and brought his 14-year-old son 'Cleveland Jr.' to Virginia, prepared to start a new family with Donna. However, he faced many troubles from his rebellious stepdaughter Roberta; his stepson Rallo, who loved to tease women since the age of 5; the loud farmer neighbor Lester; the eccentric and trendy 'jack of all trades' Holt; the strict and devout British couple Tim and Arianna… all of this brought Cleveland a lot of troubles.
