For thousands of years, the Eternals have helped humanity resist the Deviant invasions. After the last group of Deviants was eliminated in 1521, the Eternals had a disagreement over whether to continue protecting humanity, and ultimately decided to part ways and wait for Arishem to call them back to their home planet. Fast forward to now, Sersi (played by Gemma Chan) and Sprite (played by Lia McHugh) live together in London. 500 years ago, Sersi broke up with her ex-boyfriend Ikaris (played by Richard Madden) and became friends with Dane Whitman (played by Kit Harington), who works at the Natural History Museum in London. One night, a Deviant named Kro attacks the three of them, but Ikaris suddenly appears and temporarily fends off Kro.
