Astrophysicists Kurt Siegel and Gwen Armstrong, along with flight officer Mara Pritchard, discovered a strange meteorite that, after study and calculations, turned out to be debris from an asteroid. Data analysis revealed that an asteroid called Phaethon, approximately two feet in diameter, would be hidden within an ongoing meteor shower storm, set to collide with Earth in two hours. Gwen and her team realized that they had to prevent the meteor storm while also stopping the asteroid's impact. Meanwhile, to combat the already detected meteor shower storm, countries around the world were coming together to initiate a Level 5 response—launching all nuclear missiles to prevent the meteor storm from hitting Earth outside the atmosphere. However, according to Gwen and her team's analysis, if all the nuclear weapons were launched to stop the meteor storm, it would eliminate the best chances of preventing the asteroid collision with Earth, leading humanity to face catastrophic disaster. They had to persuade the highest commander to use half of the nuclear missiles to stop the meteor storm and the other half to stop the asteroid. But by the time they managed to convince the commander to alter the Level 5 response deployment after much effort, they had already lost a significant portion of the nuclear missiles. Time was running out. Gwen and her team could only attempt to utilize the still-researching Breiborg Effect for a desperate gamble...
