On the surface, Joey (played by Paul Walker) seems to live an enviably perfect life, with a cozy house, a beautiful wife, and an obedient, sensible son; it appears he has everything under control. However, behind the scenes, Joey has his own troubles. As a member of the underworld, he still finds himself running errands and disposing of stolen goods, with any hope of rising up in the ranks seeming far off. One day, an opportunity arises when his boss takes him to an important drug deal, but unexpectedly, they are ambushed and the boss is shot dead. As usual, Joey is assigned the minor task of disposing of the firearms. Feeling disheartened, he carelessly places the gun in his basement. Unfortunately, this careless act is witnessed by his son and his friend Augrey (played by Cameron Bright). Tragically, Augrey is a child who suffers from domestic violence; in a moment of desperation, he steals the gun and kills his abusive stepfather. With this, everything becomes complicated, as it turns out that Augrey's stepfather is the nephew of a Russian mob boss. Suddenly, both the underworld and the police are searching for Augrey, and Joey must find Augrey and his gun within 18 hours, or face dire consequences.
