Good establishments get his enthusiastic recommendations in the magazine, while the bad ones get harsh criticism. Thus, he becomes a devil in the eyes of restaurant and hotel owners, but a god in the hearts of readers. Because of his old age, Charles Duchemin really wants his son Gérard Duchemin (Coluche), who also has a superhuman talent in smell and taste, to inherit his legacy.
