O记沙展天宝 (played by 林宝怡) runs into his old acquaintance, who was recently released after serving a prison term for killing his wife, at a bar. Unable to contain himself, he severely injures him, leading to hospitalization. Soon after, the only son of wealthy businessman 纪中南 (played by 曾江), named 彦祖 (played by 马浚伟), is kidnapped. While monitoring the mistress of the kidnapper 刘英勇, 天宝 discovers the location where the hostages are being kept and rushes to rescue them. The kidnappers learn about 天宝's rescue attempt after receiving the ransom and plan to detonate a bomb to kill him and the hostages. Fortunately, 天宝 manages to save 彦祖 at the last moment. 纪中南 is extremely grateful to 天宝, and they become friends. On the same day, 天宝 encounters the acquaintance again at the police station and gives him another beating under the pretext of filing a statement, which leads to him being pressured into resigning. His friend 正杰 (played by 张兆辉) invites 天宝 to join his security company, but 天宝 feels it's not fitting and declines. Later, 天宝 tries to start his own business but faces numerous obstacles.
