Sadie (played by Brianna Hildebrand) and Mikaela (played by Alexandra Shipp) are childhood friends who co-founded a Twitter account called "Tragedy Girls," which reports on various murder cases happening in their local area while trying to uncover the truth behind these cases. The girls' biggest wish is for their account to go viral, even going so far as to become the perpetrators of murders in order to have news to report. However, they soon discover that the local police always try to cover up the crimes they committed, labeling them as "accidents." Jordan (played by Jack Quaid) is Sadie and Mikaela's "assistant" who helps them edit and publish videos; meanwhile, he is also the son of Sheriff Bran (played by Timothy V. Murphy). Finally, "Tragedy Girls" gains popularity, but so does the friendship between the two girls.
