Yuichi Suzuki, a 35-year-old man living in Tokyo (played by Yo Oizumi), is an assistant to a famous manga artist. He published a manga volume in his youth but has since remained relatively unknown. His life is not only financially strained, but his relationship with his girlfriend, Tetsuko Kurokawa (played by Nana Katase), is also becoming increasingly tense. Perhaps too anxious about his own situation, Yuichi fails to notice the strange occurrences happening around him. It isn't until his girlfriend, who has been in a cold war with him for a long time, transforms into a terrifying zombie that he realizes Japan has been overrun by a zombie virus known as ZQN. The once orderly city has instantly turned into a hunting ground for zombies.
