This action movie, titled 'Palestinian Wolf Valley,' features an anti-Israel theme and is based on a television series of the same name. From the trailers released by the film production team, the film tells the story of the protagonist and his companions embarking on a path of revenge against Israeli soldiers as Turkish secret spies; they locate and assassinate an Israeli commander who authorized an attack on a rescue ship. The trailer also contains multiple scenes of mutual insults between Turks and Israelis. The film's producers stated that it tells not just a revenge story but also reflects the unfair treatment Palestinians currently face through its narrative. After its release, the film quickly faced strong protests from the Israeli side. Israel's ambassador to Ankara, Levi, said in an interview with Turkish media that the film is defamatory towards Israel. He harshly criticized the film for its portrayal of prejudice against Jews, arguing that it itself promotes anti-Semitism. In May 2010, in an effort to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, the 'Humanitarian, Freedom and Relief Fund' (IHH) and the 'Free Gaza Movement' organized an international aid fleet to head for Gaza. From May 30 to 31, this fleet was intercepted by the Israeli Navy in international waters, leading to conflict. Nine Turkish volunteers were killed, and nearly 30 were injured. Turkey was an important partner for Israel in the Middle East. Following the interception of the fleet, Turkey recalled its ambassador to Israel and insisted on an apology from the Israeli side, causing further deterioration in their relations. Israel maintained that its soldiers fired in self-defense after being attacked on the ship.
