Raymond (played by Kiefer Sutherland) has finally endured his prison life and, having suffered greatly in jail, decides to turn over a new leaf after his release. He wants to live honestly with his beloved girlfriend Eddie (played by Kim Dickens), traveling the world together. However, Raymond's dark past refuses to let him go. After his release, his former friend Marcus (played by Vincent Gallo) finds him, hoping to enlist him for one last big job to make a lot of money. Unable to resist the lure of easy cash, Raymond compromises, only to find that what began as a small theft spirals into disaster due to unforeseen circumstances.
